Step 1
For the stable operation of Windows, there must be unallocated space on the system partition of the hard disk. Usually, to free up free space, they use the Disk Cleanup function, which allows you to delete temporary data and unused files. When this is not enough, the data is simply moved to other partitions of the hard drive. To get started, use the standard Windows tools.
Step 2
Open the "My Computer" menu and select the folder where the files you want are located. Right-click on the file you want to move, and in the drop-down menu, select the "Cut" item. Now open the folder on the local drive D where you want to save the working file.

Right-click on a free area of the explorer window and select "Paste". Wait for the file transfer to complete. Transfer the other files to the D drive in the same way.

If you want to facilitate the procedure for moving files, then download and install the Total Commander program. Run this utility. Display the folders of the local drive C in the left window of the program, and drive D in the right window. Navigate to those files that need to be moved to another partition. In the right window, select the folder where the files to be moved will be saved.

Now highlight the data you want. To do this, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the required files with the left mouse button. Press the F6 button after selecting all the required files. Confirm the start of the data transfer process by pressing the Enter key.

Remember that this method is not suitable for working with system files. If you need to move all files of Windows OS and related programs to another disk partition, then install the Partition Manager program. Run the utility, open the "Wizards" tab and select the "Copy section" function. Follow the step by step utility menu. After making a copy of the local drive C, delete the original files.
