For convenience, the hard disk of a computer is usually divided into two, three or more partitions. Usually, for the C drive, on which the operating system is installed, less space is allocated, which after a while begins to melt before our eyes. The problem can be solved by increasing the size of the disk.
Instructions
Step 1
Of course, we are not talking about physical interference in the inside of the computer, but about redistributing space on the hard disk partitions. A few tens of gigabytes can be “cut off” from a larger disk and “glued” to their C drive.
Step 2
To complete this simple procedure, you will have to download one of the programs that can do this job. According to a long-term tradition, many users use the Norton Partition Magic program, for example, we will consider the procedure for redistributing space on a hard drive.
Step 3
The program is available for download as on the official website www.us.norton.com and many other software portals in the network. Download and install Norton Partition Magic on your computer, and then launch the program
Step 4
The main window will schematically show your hard disk divided into partitions, indicating the size of the entire disk, each of the partitions, as well as the amount of free and used space.
Step 5
Click on the C drive and select the Resize a partition menu item. In the new dialog box, specify the desired disk size. Remember that the desired gigabytes will be "cut" from another partition on your hard drive, so make sure that this partition has enough free space.
Step 6
The program will visually change the size of the disks, and you will see this in the main menu of the program. But for the changes to take effect, you need to give the program a command. To do this, click the Apply button in the lower left corner of the program, after which the computer will restart and the space will be redistributed.
