Every time you shut down your computer, you must turn it off. However, the banal shutdown of the computer should be approached carefully if you do not want to harm the system as a whole and the components connected to it.

Step 1
What not to do when you turn off your computer? If you want to turn off your computer, never do it using the button designed to turn it on. Every time you turn off the PC using this button, you interrupt the work of many processes, which then begin to work with errors. Errors in the operation of processes can lead not only to a breakdown of the system, but also to the burnout of individual components (rarely, but it does happen). With this in mind, the computer must be shut down properly.
Step 2
Shutting down the computer. After you finish working on your PC, close all applications that you previously used. Move the mouse cursor over the "Start" menu and, by clicking on it, select "Shutdown" or "Shutdown". A window with the Shutdown, Standby, and Restart tabs will open. Click on the "Shutdown" button. The computer will be stopped.
Step 3
Waiting mode. Putting your computer into standby mode can be useful for you if you need to leave a specific application or document active. After turning on, you will see the desktop in the same state in which it was before the moment the computer was shut down. Also, shutting down the PC in this way avoids the lengthy boot up of the system the next time it is turned on.
