Step 1
Russian citizens have the right to import goods worth up to 10 thousand US dollars into the country for personal use. Nevertheless, there are some small nuances that can both simplify the import of goods and significantly complicate them.
Step 2
If you import one laptop, you shouldn't have any problems. But before you go to Russia, take it out of the package and take it unpacked. This will save you from possible questions at the customs point when leaving, you do not have to open the box, show what is in it. Just a laptop, for example, in a bag, will not raise any questions.
Step 3
Keep in mind that when importing a packed laptop, even with a purchase receipt and documents for it, customs officers may require certificates of security and Wi-Fi compliance with the Russian range. You, of course, do not have certificates, so the laptop may be detained. With a laptop without packaging, you will calmly walk along the "green" corridor.
Step 4
You can import two laptops duty-free if one of them is MAC - in this case it will be considered that you have different goods, and not two identical ones. In total, within a month, you have the right to import duty-free, one unit at a time, no more than three items of durable goods. You can import more different items per year, but also no more than one item at a time.
Step 5
If you traveled abroad as a family, that is, a husband and wife, each of you can import a laptop. In this case, the customs office will not have any claims against you, even if the devices are exactly the same.
Step 6
This option is also possible: when traveling abroad, take with you an unusable laptop of the brand that you are going to buy. In this case, be sure to indicate it in the list of exported goods, but without details, for example, "Acer laptop". Then you throw away the scrapped laptop, and instead of it you will import a new one back, while you will have the opportunity to import another laptop legally.
