In the case of buying a new computer or under other circumstances, it becomes necessary to transfer browser bookmarks from one machine to another. This feature is available in all the most popular browser programs.
Instructions
Step 1
In Mozilla Firefox, click the menu item "Bookmarks" -> "Show all bookmarks" -> "Import and backup" -> "Backup". In the window that appears, specify the path for the future file with bookmarks and click "Save". Copy this file to external media and transfer to a second computer, then open Mozilla on it. Click the menu item "Bookmarks" -> "Show all bookmarks" -> "Import and backup" -> "Restore". In the window that appears, select the copied file and click "Open".
Step 2
In Internet Explorer, select the File menu item, then Import and Export. In the new window, select "Export file" -> "Next". In the next window, check the box next to "Favorites" and click "Next" again. In the window that appears, specify the path to save the file with favorites, click "Export" and then "Finish". Copy this file to another computer. Open IE on it, click the "File" -> "Import and Export" menu item. Next, a series of dialog boxes will appear in which follow these steps: select "Import from file", click "Next", a checkmark next to "Favorites", click "Next" again, specify the path to the copied file, click "Next", select a folder, into which the file will be copied, then "Import" and "Finish".
Step 3
In Opera, go to the menu by the chain "File" -> "Import and Export" -> "Export Opera Bookmarks". In a new window, save the file with the.adr extension (it will be indicated by default). Transfer this file to another computer. Start Opera on this machine, click the menu item "File" -> "Import and Export" -> "Import opera bookmarks". In the new window, specify the path to the transferred file and click "Open".
Step 4
To transfer bookmarks to Google Chrome, it is enough to have a mailbox in gmail and access to the Internet on both computers. On the first computer, click on the wrench button located in the upper right corner of the program, then click "Options" -> "Personal Materials" and in the "Synchronization" field click on the "Synchronization Settings" button. In the window that appears, enter your gmail username and password. If not, you can create it by clicking on "Create an account with Google". Perform the same operation on the second computer.
