To provide quick access to frequently visited sites in browsers, a log is provided in which the user can add the Internet addresses he needs. In different browsers, these magazines are called differently: "Favorites", "Bookmarks", but the principle of working with them is similar. There are several steps you need to take to transfer your Favorites to another computer.
Instructions
Step 1
To copy the list of web addresses to a file, launch your browser in the usual way. In Internet Explorer, click the star button on the menu bar for more advanced access to the log. When the browser changes its appearance, click on the arrow button in the line "Add to Favorites" and select "Import and Export" from the drop-down menu.
Step 2
In the "Import-Export Settings" window that opens, set the marker in the field opposite the "Export to file" item and click the "Next" button. In the next window, indicate that you want to export the "Favorites", click the "Next" button again. Select the "Favorites" folder or any of the existing subfolders with site addresses using the left mouse button and specify the path to save the file.
Step 3
The file with Internet resources is exported in the.htm format by default. You can change the extension to.html to be sure that the bookmark data can be imported later into any browser. Copy the created file to any removable storage medium or send it to yourself by e-mail.
Step 4
After you find yourself behind another computer, make sure that you have access to the directory with the file "Favorites", repeat the first and second steps, but instead of the command "Export to file" select the command "Import from file". Specify the path to the file with "Favorites".
Step 5
If you are using the Mozilla Firefox browser, you can export and import the Bookmarks file in either.html or.json format. In the browser menu, select "Bookmarks" and the command "Show all bookmarks". A new "Library" window will open. Select the "Backup" command from the "Import and Backup" menu, or the "Export Bookmarks to HTML File" command. Then proceed by analogy with the Internet Explorer browser.
Step 6
You can also transfer Bookmarks to another computer in Mozilla Firefox using the Xmarks add-on. Install it in your browser, select the "Synchronize" command from the "Tools" menu and follow the instructions that appear. You will be given a key code with which you can access your bookmarks from another computer.
