Step 1
In order to open a disk image, there are many different programs. The most popular among them is the shareware program Daemon Tools. It has a simple interface, and if you don't want the professional version, you don't have to pay for it. So download and install it first.
Step 2
If the virtual drive was not created automatically after installation, or you want to add another one, right-click on the program icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. In the menu that appears, select "Virtual drives" and then the item "Add virtual SCSI drive". Wait a little, after a minute the drive will be automatically created by the program.
Step 3
Then select the required virtual drive and click on the "Mount image" button. After that, a search window will appear, where you will need to specify the path to the virtual disk image. Once you find the image, select it and click the "Open" button. The image will be mounted to a virtual drive.
