People who are beginning to master typing on the keyboard can find it difficult to remember the location of certain keys. It takes an unreasonable amount of time to find the desired symbol. There are several ways to put a colon on the keyboard.
Instructions
Step 1
To put a colon when entering text in Cyrillic, press the "Shift" key and, while holding it, press the ":" symbol. It is located on the "6" key in the top row of keys. This step and the next step are equally suitable for entering a character from the keyboard in almost any document and on any Internet page.
Step 2
If you changed the keyboard layout and switched to the Latin alphabet (the layout is changed by simultaneously pressing the "Ctrl" and "Shift" or "Alt" and "Shift" keys), hold down the "Shift" key and, while holding it, enter the ":" character. When entering a font in Latin, this character corresponds to the key ": /;" (there is a Cyrillic letter "Ж" on the same key). Look for this symbol on the right side of the keyboard letter bar.
Step 3
You can put a colon in another way. It is suitable when you are working with a text editor Microsoft Word. Click the Insert tab at the top of the document pane. Select the "Symbol" section by clicking on it with the left mouse button. In Microsoft Office Word 2007, this section is on the right side of the window. Click on it and select "Other Symbols" from the drop-down menu. In versions of Microsoft Office Word earlier than 2007, this section should be found in the drop-down menu of the "Insert" item.
Step 4
A window with a set of different symbols will open in front of you. If you don't see the colon character right away, use the scroll bar on the right side of the window to find it. Having found the desired character, make sure that the cursor is in the desired location in the main document, select the colon in the character window by clicking on the icon with the left mouse button, and click the "Insert" button.
Step 5
In order not to call the window with symbols every time you work with the document, copy it to the clipboard and next time just paste it from there into the text. To paste a character from the clipboard, use the mouse or paste a colon from the keyboard. To do this, hold down the "Ctrl" key and, while holding it, press the "V" key, or hold down the "Shift" key and, without releasing it, press the "Insert" key.
