Typically, an optical disc containing the necessary drivers, additional software, and reference materials is purchased with the printer. But if the printing device did not come to you from a store and without such a disk, you can get everything that it contains, including drivers, via the Internet. Almost all manufacturers have their own servers on the network and distribute such software free of charge.
It is very convenient to have a know-it-all program in your computer, which is able to collect in one place all information about all the hardware and software used - internal and connected devices to the computer, operating system, etc. Modern programs of this kind, in addition to device parameters, also provide links to the pages of their manufacturers' websites, which contain descriptions, drivers and applications for their maintenance. One of these useful programs is called AIDA 64.
To get a link to download the Canon driver using this application, turn on the printer, start AIDA 64, in the list of sections, select first "Devices" and then "Printers". If you have more than one printer connected to your computer, select Canon from the Printer Name list in the right frame. The last section in the device information table will be "Printer Manufacturer" - double-click the link in the "Product Information" field of this section. The browser will load the page on the Canon website that is specific to your printer model. This is a page for the English version of the site, so to go to the page with links to download the driver, click Drivers & Software.
Of course, you can get to the desired page on your own, without using any programs. In this case, you can even choose the Russian-language site of Canon - canon.ru. In the right column on the main page of this site there is a section with a red heading "Search for models" - open the drop-down list "Select a model" placed in it and click on the line "Printers". Then, in the Select a subcategory list, set the device type - laser, inkjet, compact, professional - and click the Show button. In the list on the next page loaded in your browser, click the model you need, and then click the Drivers link under the Download. If the model you need is not in the list, select any other - later you will have access to a more complete list.
The Russian site will open an English-language driver download page hosted on the Canon Europe server. In the For you column, select a country in the Country drop-down list, then set Printers in the Product field, and then in the Model list find the required printer model and click Go. After that, the Russian-language page will be loaded again, on which you need to put a check in the "Software (drivers and applications)" field. Then select the driver you need in the Available software list, put a tick in the I accept the terms of the agreement checkbox and click the Download button.
