IP routing is a necessary tool for Internet access. By default, routing of TCP / IP packets between network adapters is disabled in Microsoft Windows. Therefore, it must be turned on.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu and go to "Run".
Step 2
Enter regedit32 in the Open field to access Registry Editor.
Step 3
Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM'CurrentControlSet / Services / Tcpip / Parameters section and make the changes:
Parameter: IPEnableRouter
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
to enable routing of TCP / IP packets for all network connections.
Step 4
Select the "General" section and open the context menu by right-clicking on the "General" field and select "Properties".
Step 5
Uncheck the "Maintain error log only" box to record various errors that may occur with IP routing.
Step 6
Select the "Log errors and warnings" check box to expand the commit options.
Step 7
Clear the Log All Events check box to display all IP routing events in full.
Step 8
Click the Disable Event Log checkbox to un-commit what is happening.
Step 9
Select your preferred preferences for using information from various route sources on the Preference Levels tab.
The local route is considered the most reliable.
Use the Increase and Decrease buttons to change the preference settings for the remaining routes.
Step 10
Set the multicast scopes served by the router on the Multicast Scopes tab.
Use the Add and Modify buttons to modify this parameter.
Step 11
Return to the "General" branch and call the service menu by right-clicking on the "General" field to add a new interface.
Step 12
Select New Interface and select the desired interface for routing.
Click the OK button to execute the command.
Step 13
Select "New Routing Protocol" in the same service menu to add a new protocol.
Specify the desired protocol in the window list and click the OK button to apply the command.
Step 14
Return to the "General" branch and select the required device from the list on the right side of the window. Call the service menu by right-clicking on the interface field and select the "Properties" item.
Step 15
Select the Enable IP Routing Manager check box to enable routing through the selected interface.
Step 16
Use the desired setting options on the Multicast Scope Boundaries and Multicast Heartbeat tabs in the Properties window.
