Instructions
Step 1
"System Restore" is used in case of accidental loss of important data or the irreversibility of some processes, this tool is launched from the "Start" menu. Click the Start menu, select All Programs. In the list that opens, select the "Standard" section, then "System Tools", click the "System Restore" item. If prompted, enter the administrator password (remember to confirm the password).
Step 2
If you have some programs or windows open before starting the tool, close them and save all the changes. System Restore will require a computer restart. Do not forget that all changes that will be made by this utility can be reverted back (a checkpoint is created before recovery).
Step 3
After starting the utility, the main window will appear on the screen, in which you must click the "Next" button. You will see the "Restore your computer to a previous state" window, which will display the restore points. You need to select the desired restore point. Which restore point should you choose? Pay attention to their titles: "Windows Update", "Install Quick Time Player", etc.
Step 4
After selecting a suitable point, click on its heading, then click the "Next" button. By default, not all restore points are displayed in this window; to view all the options, check the box next to "Show other restore points".
Step 5
The next window "Confirm restore point" will indicate the details of the operation that will occur after restarting the computer. If everything is correct, click the "Finish" button, the computer will automatically restart. When the operating system boots, it will automatically restore the system to the previously specified date.
Step 6
System Restore will end in a few minutes and the system will boot. A window will appear on the screen with a message about the successful or unsuccessful completion of the restore operation.
