Steam Guard is a special feature to protect accounts on Steam game servers. It prevents the user account from being hacked and accessed from unknown computers. Steam Guard can be disabled if the user wishes.
Instructions
Step 1
Activation of the Steam Guard function is performed automatically immediately after registering a new user account and going through the confirmation procedure by e-mail. If you are using an unregistered or not yet activated version of Steam, access to some settings, including Steam Guard, will be denied. Go to the general Steam client settings section and check if your account is verified. If you have already gone through this procedure before, there will be a “Confirmed” mark next to your e-mail. If not, please confirm the email address associated with your Steam account before proceeding.
Step 2
Receive by e-mail a special access code for the Steam client, which will be valid only on your computer. In the future, as soon as you disable the Steam Guard function, you will be able to launch the client without having to receive and enter a code. Launch Steam and log into your account using the resulting combination.
Step 3
Click on the Steam icon in the upper left corner of the program and go to the "Settings" section. Select "Manage Steam Guard Settings", which is located in the "Account" section. Activate the item "Disable Steam Guard" and save the settings. Your account protection will now be deactivated. If necessary, you can reactivate the function in the same section.
Step 4
Think carefully before disabling the Steam Guard feature. Hacking accounts on Steam is a fairly common phenomenon, so the program developers strongly advise against deactivating protection. At the same time, disabling Steam Guard can affect the user's experience in various games, for example, some Counter Strike servers lower the reputation of those players who enter the game from an unsecured account.
