Installing car models in GTA San Andreas in manual mode using the specialized application IMG Tool is recommended as insurance against possible problems and preserving the possibility of fixing them.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the archive with the selected car model to your computer and unpack it to any convenient directory. Make sure there are files with.dff and.txd extensions in the archive and run the IMG Tool application.
Step 2
Open the File menu of the upper service panel of the program window and specify the Open command. Alternatively, you can do the same by pressing the Ctrl and L function keys at the same time. Open the directory drive_name: GamesGTA San Andreasmodels and select a file named gta3.img that contains all the models and textures used during the game.
Step 3
Find the files of the model to be replaced with the extensions.dff and.txd in the list that opens and call the context menu of each of these files by clicking the right mouse button. Specify the "Delete" command and open the Commands menu of the upper service panel of the IMG Tool application window.
Step 4
Use the Add command and specify the full path to the saved files of the loaded model in a new dialog box. Select both files and use the Rebuild Archive command to install the selected machine model.
Step 5
Check for modifications of the installed model in the text files: - carmods.dat; - handling.cfg; - carcols.dat; - vehicles.ide. To do this, start the "Notepad" application and open the selected files in it. Find the line that contains information about the changes made to the installed model with the model name and numeric values.
Step 6
Open the "File" menu of the upper service panel of the application window and select the "Open" command. Specify the path to the GTA San AndreasDATA folder and use the "All Files" option at the bottom of the dialog box that opens. Select the parameters to be replaced in the original vehicle specification file and replace them with the modified ones. This will complete the installation process for the selected machine model.
