Information output devices are a variety of peripheral devices that convert a digital code into any other form that is convenient for human perception.

Today there are a huge variety of different output devices. All of them can be divided into several groups, these are devices for displaying information on the screen, devices for outputting sound, as well as devices for displaying other information.

Image output devices

Devices for the output of visual information include: monitor, printer, and plotter. The monitor is the most popular device for displaying information, since without it, the use of a computer becomes simply impossible. The principle of the monitor is that it converts the video signals supplied by the computer into an image.

A modern monitor consists directly of a screen, a power supply, a case and several control boards in it. The video signals themselves are created and fed to the monitor by a video card, which is also an output device. In some cases, instead of a monitor, a TV connected to a computer with a special cable can be used.

A printer is a special peripheral device that allows you to translate electronic text onto a physical medium, namely paper. Today, various MFPs (multifunctional devices) are more popular, which are both a printer and a scanner (different models have different functionality).

A plotter, or in other words a plotter, is also a device for outputting information, only in its case, complex graphic drawings, maps or drawings can be printed on paper.

Sound output devices

Audio output devices include: built-in computer speaker (PC speaker), speakers and headphones. Today the PC speaker is practically not used, or rather it is used only for signaling errors, but it does not output sound. Previously, this device was used on various IBM PCs and compatible PCs.

Loudspeakers or acoustic system is the most popular audio output device today. Speakers can be single-lane or multi-lane. Single-sideband systems are practically not used today, since they are not widely used.

In multiband systems, there are several sound heads to which the corresponding signal is applied. Headphones, in contrast to speakers, are a means for personal listening to audio information, and in all other respects they are completely identical to speakers.

Other output devices

Other information output devices include a joystick, namely its ability to vibrate, for example, in a collision, and a video card, since it plays the most important role in building and transmitting an image to a monitor.
