Users who have bought a laptop or computer with a preinstalled Windows 7 Basic operating system, when trying to change the standard theme, find that it is impossible to do this using standard OS tools. Enthusiasts became interested in the issue of expanding the capabilities of the system, and programs and patches were born that solve this problem.
Instructions
Step 1
You need to download and install the program to change the Windows interface. Initially, the developers from Microsoft laid down a number of limitations in the capabilities of different versions of the system, which was reflected in the price of the corresponding editions. You can bypass such prohibitions by using a patch for the theme file, which determines what exactly can be changed in the design. And it is this file that causes the message about the lack of support for themes in lower versions of Windows 7.
Step 2
Find, for example, the UxThemePatcher utility and run it. But a more convenient way is to use the Personalization Panel program, which is suitable for all versions of Windows 7, 32- and 64-bit, Russian and English.
Step 3
Open any browser. Enter https://windowstheme.ru/download.php?view.17 in the address bar. At the bottom of the website, find the "Download" button and click on it. Confirm that you want to download the file. The program is provided by the developer for free.
Step 4
Double-click the downloaded loader program. A window will open with a proposal to download the personalization panel and the additional program "Multibar". Click on the "NO" button to download only the Personalization Panel. The download of the installer of the utility will begin, which will be able to change the themes in Windows 7 Basic. Wait for the download to finish.
Step 5
Click the "Yes, run" button in the dialog box that appears as soon as the personalization panel setup file is downloaded. Follow the instructions in the wizard and click the Yes and Next buttons as needed. The program will unlock the AERO interface and translucency, as well as install 10 new skins.
Step 6
Restart your computer and you can use the control panel to choose a suitable theme and customize it to your liking.
