Step 1
Here are a few ways to enable services in Windows XP. The first way is as follows. Click on the "My Computer" icon with the right mouse button. A context menu will appear, in which select "Manage". The Computer Management window opens. On its right side, find the line "Services and Applications" and double-click on it. In the next window, select the line "Services", also double-clicking on it with the left mouse button.

A list of all services appears. Find the one you want to launch in the list and left-click on it. A description of the service you selected will appear in the window on the left. Click on it with the right mouse button. Then select "Run" from the context menu. Then close all windows. Restart your computer and the service of your choice will start.

If you know the name of the service you want to start, then the second method is better for you, as it is faster. Click Start. Select "All Programs", then - "Standard Programs". In standard programs, click on "Command Line".
Step 4
At the command line, you can activate the start of the service. To do this, enter the command Sc config start = enable and press the Enter key. After a second, a notification will appear that the service you have selected is starting. Then close Command Prompt and restart your computer. If a notification appears that the command you entered is not an internal or external command, an executable program or file, then you have entered the wrong service name.

To manage some services, your account must have administrator rights, otherwise you will not be able to start it. For more information about services, use the Sc.exe command at the command line.
