Skype is used to communicate over the Internet. Unlike ICQ, Skype is more commonly used for video calls than text messaging. If you no longer need this application, you can uninstall it like any other program.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the "Programs and Features" section. This utility can be launched through the "Control Panel", the "Start" menu. In the window that appears, in a minute or two, a list of all applications and utilities installed on the system will be formed. You can also go to "My Computer" and click in the left column of the column called "Add or Remove Programs".
Step 2
Find Skype in the list. Sort the list alphabetically by clicking on the title of this column, or by installation date, to make it easier to find Skype. Position the mouse cursor, thus selecting the entire line. After selecting an application in the list, an additional item "Delete" will appear above the list in the window menu. Click on this item with the left mouse button to start the procedure for removing the program from the operating system. This item may not be available if you do not have sufficient rights.
Step 3
Confirm the system request that you really want to uninstall the selected application. Follow the procedure for uninstalling the application until a message appears on the screen that the program was successfully uninstalled. The application launch shortcut will also disappear from the desktop area. You can go to the system local drive and find the name of the program that you want to remove in the list. Next, delete all files that are in the program folder.
Step 4
All programs installed in the operating system must be removed correctly. If a program does not have its own uninstall link in the start menu, download the Programs and Features utility and uninstall the application using standard Windows tools. As a rule, the software from a personal computer can be removed by third-party programs, but the operating system does an excellent job of this on its own.
