Processing sound files is a rather complex and painstaking work, especially when it is necessary to extract one voice from the general noise for saving in a separate file. For this, audio editing programs come to the rescue.
Necessary
Adobe Audition program
Instructions
Step 1
Launch Adobe Audition to extract voices from the recording. Using the File menu, the Open command, select the desired audio file from the disk. Remove background noise from audio recordings to get voice out of the overall recording. Noise removal consists of two successive stages: first, find the part of the recording where there are no sounds, but only noise. As a rule, areas with noise are located either at the beginning of the recording or at the very end of it.
Step 2
Next, get the noise spectrum. Select the area where there is noise, then select the Effects menu, the Noise Reduction command, click on the Get Profile from Selection button. With this tool, you will show the program what exactly needs to be removed to get the result.
Step 3
Wait while the program analyzes the selected area and displays the noise spectrum. Save the noise profile to a file by clicking the Save Profile button. Next, remove the noise itself. This can be done both in a fragment of the file and in the entire recording. Select the Remove noise option, before that set the Noise Reduction Level value to the maximum.
Step 4
Listen to a preliminary version of the sound of the file without noise, for this click the Preview button. Change the noise reduction parameters as needed. After setting the required parameters, start the noise removal by clicking the OK button.
Step 5
Apply the Dynamics Processing compressor with the setting for the desired voice type, for example, rock vocal, then a compressor called the Multiband compressor with the Broadcast parameter. You can also open the equalizer and change the settings to get the best result for extracting voices from audio recordings.
Step 6
After removing the noise, you can repeat the procedure, specifying other elements present in the audio file as noise, for example, musical accompaniment. To do this, follow the first two steps, as a sample, select any fragment in which there is music, but no voice.
Step 7
Clean up those places in the file where there are no words, to do this, select such fragments manually and mute them using the Effects menu, in it select the Mute command. After that, normalize the vocals, for this go to the Effects menu, select the Amplitude and Compression option, then select the Normilize command from the list, click the OK button.
