Is it possible to work at the computer without booting the system from the hard drive? You don't even need to talk about what opportunities open up if you work at a computer bypassing the installed system. Curing the computer from viruses, restoring the file system and other operations with hard drives become available through this boot. But to get access to all the necessary devices, you need to properly boot the computer from the disk.

Instructions

Step 1

Multiboot drives are a very convenient solution when it becomes necessary to boot a computer from a disk. There are many options for bootable discs, differing in the set of preinstalled programs. They are called “LiveCDs”, which means live discs. Select the assembly of the operating system you like in LiveCD format and download it to your computer.

Step 2

The selected operating system assembly is a file with the *.iso extension. To work with such files, additional software is required. Using programs for burning discs, such as Nero, Ashampoo Burning Studio and others, which make it possible to burn images to media, we burn the downloaded image file to a CD or DVD disc.

Step 3

Restart your computer and enter BIOS. The BIOS menu may have different names depending on the manufacturer, but most often the parameter we are interested in is located on the “Advanced” tab. Among other names, we are looking for the item "Boot up order" or another similar in meaning. Install the CD-ROM as the first boot device (“First Boot Up Device”) and save the changes and exit the BIOS.

Step 4

Insert the burned disc into the drive and boot from it. After you have been able to boot the computer from the disk, you can start diagnosing problems using the programs preinstalled on the LiveCD.
