The purpose of the operating system

The operating system includes a basic set of software for computer control and ensures the operation of the file system, additional programs, data exchange, operation and display of information on the monitor screen. Thus, the OS serves to ensure the interaction of the software installed on the computer by the user. The most up-to-date and widespread version is Windows 7. Installing the OS with minimal knowledge is not difficult, but with the removal of things, things are a little more complicated.

Operating system uninstallation steps

As already noted, the OS is a graphical shell and controls the operation of the computer. Built-in self-defense mechanisms will not allow you to remove the system as an ordinary program, but nevertheless, it can be removed if certain requirements are met. In fact, deleting an operating system means completely formatting a partition and deleting data on it.

It should be said right away that there are several options for removing the operating system on a computer, but there is the most common and simplest method. To implement it, you will need an installation disk with the Windows 7 OS distribution kit. First of all, you need to take care of saving information on the system disk. To do this, you will need to copy the necessary data to removable media, another logical drive, or to a network folder.

Then you need to restart your computer and boot the BIOS installation disc. To do this, enter it, then select the optical media and, after saving the settings, restart the computer. The process of installing the new operating system will begin. Decide on the installation language, and then click "Install". Then you accept the terms of the license agreement. In the next window, select the full installation.

The most important stage is the following. It is necessary to correctly specify the partition of the disk on which the system is installed, select the disk settings and click "Format". If you choose the wrong partition, you can lose all existing data. After completing all the above steps, the old Windows 7 will be removed from the computer and the data on the system disk will be destroyed.
