Task Scheduler is one of the software services in Windows operating systems. It allows you to set a schedule for the computer to perform certain tasks, but if you do not need it or there are some problems in the system due to its operation, you can easily turn it off.

Instructions

Step 1

Click on the "My Computer" icon, usually located on the desktop, with the right mouse button to open the context menu. In this context menu, select the "Control" item. If this icon is not on the desktop, then open the "Start" menu and find it there.

Step 2

In the "Computer Management" window that opens, select the "Services and Applications" section on the left side of this window at the very bottom of the list. Click on it with the left mouse button, after which three sections of settings will appear on the right side of the window. Select "Services" by double-clicking on this item with the left mouse button.

Step 3

In the list of services that opens, find the "Task Scheduler" by scrolling the list with the mouse wheel, and select it by clicking the left mouse button. Then select the Action menu section from the menu bar located at the top of the window under its title. In the list of actions that opens, select "Properties".

Step 4

In this window, you will see that the task scheduler is working - it will be written about it opposite the "Status" item. Right below it, you will see buttons to start and stop the service. In order to disable the task scheduler, click on the "Stop" button. And if you want to temporarily pause the action of the scheduler, then click on the "Pause" button.

Step 5

If you want to completely disable the task scheduler so that it does not function the next time the operating system is started, then click on the "Stop" button, then open the "Startup type" list located just above and select the "Disabled" option there. Thus, the "Auto" option will allow the scheduler to start automatically when the operating system starts, while the "Manual" option assumes full manual control of the task scheduler launch, while the state of the service will remain after the system is restarted.
