There are times when you need to install the sata driver manually. This is especially true if you need to install an operating system on a modern computer, the distribution kit of which simply does not include this driver. This is due to the fact that new computers use hard drive controllers, which appeared later than, for example, Windows XP. Therefore, if for some reason you need to install one of the old operating systems on your computer, you simply cannot do this without the sata driver, since during the installation process the system will not be able to detect your hard drive.
Necessary
- - a computer with Windows OS;
- - nLite program.
Instructions
Step 1
The most convenient way to install sata drivers is to integrate them directly into the operating system you need. This can be done using the nLite program. Download it and install it on your hard drive. Then download the sata drivers, preferably for your chipset. You can find out about the chipset with which your motherboard is equipped with the instructions for it or on the manufacturer's website. Unpack the drivers to any folder.
Step 2
Insert the operating system disc into the optical drive. Create a new folder on your hard disk and copy the entire contents of the operating system disk there. Then start the nLite program. Select Russian as the interface language and proceed further. In the next window, click the browse button and specify the path to the folder where you copied the contents of the disk with the operating system. This will start checking the OS that you copied. After its completion, information about the operating system will appear. Click the Next button twice.
Step 3
In the window that appears, check the item "Drivers", as well as "Bootable ISO image". Then proceed further. The next window is called "Drivers". Click "Add" and specify the path to the folder where you saved the drivers downloaded from the Internet. A situation may arise where they will be for both 32 and 64-bit operating systems. Accordingly, if you integrate them into a 32-bit system, then you need to choose 32-bit. After that click OK and move on. Then agree to the driver integration process and upon completion click "Next".
Step 4
Insert a blank disc into your computer's drive. A window for selecting recording parameters will appear. For reliability, set the slowest recording speed, and then click "Record". Upon completion, you will have an operating system with sata drivers already added.
