TV tuners are used to watch TV channels using a computer or laptop. Internal tuners can only be connected to a stationary PC, because installed directly into the system unit.

Instructions
Step 1
All modern internal TV tuners connect to a PCI port located on the computer's motherboard. Make sure your PC has a free PCI slot. Choose the TV tuner that suits your needs. Modern models can be controlled using the remote control, having their own infrared port.
Step 2
Turn off your computer and connect a TV tuner to the PCI slot. Sometimes this requires detaching the metal plate from the back of the system unit case. Connect the appropriate cable to the antenna jack of the TV tuner. You can use an indoor antenna or satellite TV cable.
Step 3
Turn on your computer and wait for a new device to be detected. Install the software required to set up and operate the TV tuner. If you do not have a disc containing the files you want, open a web browser and go to the manufacturer's site for that equipment. Download the required program from there.
Step 4
Run the installed utility. Search for channels and adjust the picture quality. Save your settings. There are two options for outputting audio from the TV tuner. Connect the speaker cable to the dedicated jack on the TV tuner. Now the audio signal will be transmitted only from this device. This is not always convenient.
Step 5
There are special cables designed to connect a TV tuner to a computer sound card. At both ends of this cable there is a Mini Jack (3.5 mm) connector. Make this connection. In the settings of the sound card, specify the used port as the signal receiving source. Better to connect to the Audio In port. Now you can play the audio signal from the TV tuner and computer applications at the same time. Connect the IR sensor and check the operation of the remote control.
