Replace Copy is the operation of replacing one file with another with the same name and extension. In this case, the contents of the files may differ dramatically. The copying method is universal for files of any type and folders.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the folder from which you want to copy the file or folder. Select an object by pressing the cursor or move the selection using the arrow keys. Then copy the object to the clipboard.
Copying is done by pressing the “Ctrl-C” keys pressed simultaneously. There are other ways: press the "Properties" button between the right "Alt" and "Ctrl" keys. In the context menu, select the "Copy" command. The same menu is displayed when you right-click on the mouse (click on the object).
Step 2
Open the destination folder. Make sure that a similar object (file or folder) is of the same type and has the same name. Otherwise, the object will be copied to the folder without replacement.
Step 3
Paste the object into the destination folder. There are at least three options: the simplest - the combination "Ctrl-V", Paste through the context menu takes a little more time (click the "Properties" button if there are no selected files or right-click on an empty space in the folder and select the "Paste" command).
Step 4
In the dialog box that appears, depending on the type of system, either confirm the fact of replacement (the "Yes" button), or select "Copy with replacement" from the options offered.
