The task of connecting a local computer to a remote desktop is standard for the Microsoft Windows operating system and is solved by means of the system itself. No additional software is required.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button and open the context menu of the "Computer" item by right-clicking on the remote computer.
Step 2
Specify the "Properties" item and select the "Remote Use" tab of the dialog box that opens.
Step 3
Apply the checkbox to the "Allow remote access to this computer" field and click the "Yes" button in the request window that opens to confirm the application of the selected changes.
Step 4
Use the "Select remote users" button to view the list and specify the required users by clicking the "Add" button.
Step 5
Press the OK button to confirm your choice, press the OK button again to execute the command, and press the same button again to confirm the application of the selected changes.
Step 6
Insert the Windows installation disc into the local computer drive and select the "Perform other tasks" command after the welcome message appears.
Step 7
Use the "Install Remote Desktop Control" item (if necessary) or click the "Start" button and navigate to / Programs / Accessories / Communications / Remote Desktop Connection (if the service is already installed) to start the service.
Step 8
Log on to your local computer and make sure the computer is connected to your local network or the Internet.
Step 9
Return to the main Start menu and go to All Programs.
Step 10
Expand the Standard link and select Communication.
Step 11
Go to the "Remote Desktop Connection" node and select the "Options" command.
Step 12
Select the computer to connect from the list and enter the username, password, and domain name (if necessary) information in the corresponding fields of the application window.
Step 13
Click the "Connect" button to confirm the execution of the command and specify the password of the account selected for connection in the "Log in to Windows" window that opens.
