Slideshows are made in specialized utilities by compiling photos into a single video file. To extract images, direct copying of the frames themselves from the video is used programmatically using utilities for working with video.
Necessary
- - video file with slideshow;
- - a program for extracting screenshots from videos.
Instructions
Step 1
Install a program that will extract a photo from a video slideshow. Saving images is done through the function of taking screenshots built into the utility. Among the applications that have this option, it is worth noting KMPlayer, VLC or Media Player Classic. The latter program is included in the standard set of programs in the K-Lite Media Codecs Pack. You can download each of the listed utilities from the official websites of their developers. After downloading, run the resulting file and follow the instructions of the installer to complete the installation.
Step 2
Open the program window and select your document from the slideshow using the menu "File" - "Open" (File - Open). Wait until the video file is loaded and its name appears in the window.
Step 3
Start watching a slideshow. Using a special slider on the video playback scale, you can navigate to a particular segment of the video file to search for the desired segment.
Step 4
Having found the desired segment, use the playback control buttons to move to a specific frame. After choosing the exact position of the image that you want to save, right-click on the program screen and select the option "Video" - "Take a snapshot" (Video - Take a Snapshot). The name of this item may change depending on the version of the utility used.
Step 5
After that, the program will automatically save the screenshot to the Pictures folder of the system. You can specify the location to save the required screenshot yourself by changing the corresponding parameter in the utility options ("Service" - "Settings" or "Tools" - "Settings"). Repeat the operation for other photos inserted in the slideshow video file to keep the rest of the files.
