Shutting down Windows correctly, like all its applications, reduces the likelihood of file system corruption and accumulation of errors. Processes running in the background contain many files that are inevitably damaged when the system is shut down incorrectly (simply by turning off the power to the system unit). Not to mention running apps. Let's remind you how to shut down without endangering your computer.
Instructions
Step 1
So, to properly shutdown the computer, you first need to: close all running programs and applications, remove the floppy disk from the drive (if you are still using them), disconnect all connected devices (printer, fax, scanner, etc.). Then clicking the "Start" icon, select "Shutdown", "Shutdown", "OK". After that, the computer turns off after a few seconds (depending on the system settings). The monitor does not need to be turned off.
Step 2
If for some reason the mouse does not function, shutdown is performed using the keyboard, in the following order: click the "checkbox" (identical to the "Start" icon), in the main menu that appears, place the cursor on the line "Shutdown" using the arrows; press Enter; select Shutdown and press Enter again.
Step 3
Second option: press alt="Image" (left) + F4, "Shutdown", "Shutdown".
Step 4
If you first need to close active windows, press alt="Image" + Tab, then alt="Image" (left) + F4 (identical to closing windows by clicking the cross).
Step 5
Some reasons that prevent the system from shutting down correctly: failure in one of the applications or power settings, lack of necessary updates to system components, incorrect operation of drivers or antivirus software.
Step 6
In any case, it is better to seek the help of a specialist to identify the cause of the malfunction.
