In our age of ubiquitous computerization, the skills of a confident user of office suites are no longer a luxury, but a necessity. The amount of information for processing is growing every day, and a simple calculator is indispensable here. With the help of a program such as Excel, we can easily process arbitrarily large amounts of tabular data. Consider the division operation by means of Excel (including mass).
Instructions
Step 1
In order to understand the principle of work in Excel, you should understand the following main points:
a unit of data in Excel is a value that contains one cell;
all operations performed in Excel are performed on the cell data;
the coordinates of the cells have the form:, where is the designation of the matrix column, and is the designation of the matrix row (eg A1).
Suppose we have two columns of numbers that need to be divided among themselves. First, let's learn how to divide one cell into another.
Step 2
Left-click the mouse to select the cell where you want to write the result of the division.
Step 3
Then left-click on the line to write the formulas.
Step 4
In the selected line, first of all, write the "=" symbol. Then, with the left mouse button, we click on the cell that will participate in the division. As a result, the result cell will be assigned the value of the cell selected for division.
Step 5
Further in the line of writing formulas after the value of the first cell (in our case it is A1), put a division sign (/). However, here you can put not only division, but also any other arithmetic operation.
Step 6
After the division sign, select the second cell (that is, the one that will be divided into).
You can repeat the above steps as long as you like to form compound math calculations. You don't have to be limited to two cells. You can also use parentheses.
Step 7
After typing the required formula, press Enter, after which the result cell will take the value obtained during the calculation of the formula.
Step 8
Now suppose we need to calculate the entire table. Excel tools allow us not to write a new value for each cell, but to calculate everything at once.
Step 9
To do this, left-click on the cell with the result. Then move the cursor to the bottom right of the cell (the cursor should change its appearance from a white cross to a thinner black one). Hold down the left mouse button and "drag" the cursor to the very bottom of the table, then release the button.
As a result, we processed the entire plate, writing the formula just once.
