Temporary Internet Files, or temporary Internet files, are stored by Internet browsers on your computer's hard drive. This is necessary so that the content of already visited web pages will load faster when you re-view it. Sometimes there are too many of these files, which negatively affects the network. In this case, you need to clear the Temporary Internet Files folder.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel" from the menu. If the pane is categorized, select the Network and Internet Connections icon and the Internet Options icon. If the panel has a classic look, select "Internet Options" right away. A new dialog box will open.
Step 2
Make sure you are on the General tab and look for the Browsing History section. Click the "Delete" button in it. In the additional window "Delete browsing history" that opens, mark the item "Temporary Internet files" with a marker and click the "Delete" button. Wait for the operation to complete.
Step 3
You can do the same directly in Internet Explorer. Start IE and select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu. Repeat the steps in the previous step. Alternatively, select the "Delete Browsing History" item from the "Tools" menu, this will bring up the same "Delete Browsing" window.
Step 4
To clear the Java plug-in cache, open the Control Panel through the Start button and switch to its Classic View using the link button in the upper left corner of the window. Click on the Java icon and the Java Control Panel dialog box will open.
Step 5
Make sure you are on the General tab and look for the Temporary Internet Files section. Click the Settings button in it - an additional dialog box will open, click the Delete Files button at its bottom. In the query window, the Applications and Applets and Trace and Log Files items will already be marked with a marker. Click the OK button, wait until the operation is completed and sequentially close all open windows.
Step 6
Use a logical approach to delete temporary internet files in other browsers. So, for example, the Mozilla Firefox browser keeps logs of visits and downloads, forms and searches, and so on. Accordingly, you need to clear these logs. To do this, launch the browser and select the "Erase Recent History" item in the "Logs" menu. Mark the necessary items in the window that appears and click the "Clear now" button. Wait for the operation to complete.
