Instructions

Step 1

The developers made sure that all the tools necessary for the user were easily accessible and did not have to look long. Therefore, the main menu "File" with the usual commands "Open", "New", "Save" and so on is minimized under the Office button located in the upper left corner of the program window, and options, commands and tools that are often used in work are moved to the ribbon.

Step 2

The ribbon contains tabs such as Home, Insert, Formulas, Data, and so on. Each tab contains a number of tools, which in turn are broken down into categories and subcategories. The ribbon can be displayed both minimized and expanded. To select the desired type of ribbon display, right-click on it and mark the "Minimize ribbon" item in the context menu with a marker, or, conversely, remove the marker from this item using the left mouse button.

Step 3

Above the ribbon to the left of the Office button is the Quick Access Toolbar. There can be placed buttons that the user often needs during work, for example, with the commands "Save", "Undo the last action", "Redo action". If you click on the arrow button on the right side of this panel, a submenu expands. In it, you can mark the commands that you need with a marker, and they will appear as buttons on the quick access toolbar. If there are too few commands in the list, select More Commands and add buttons from the expanded list.

Step 4

To customize the status bar, right-click on the bottom panel in the program window. The menu will expand. Mark with a marker those elements that should be displayed when working with an Excel sheet: labels, page numbers, cell mode, scale, and so on.

Step 5

To access advanced Excel settings, click on the Office button and select "Excel Options" at the very end of the menu. A new dialog box will open. On its left side, the sections are displayed: "Basic", "Formulas", "Resources", "Add-ins" and more. On the right side of each section, you can select certain options for working with Excel, starting with changing the color of the interface and ending with setting parameters for calculations and working with formulas. All changes in the settings must be confirmed with the OK button.
