Cyrillic is used to enter text into various programs by the operating system in Russian characters from the keyboard. Setting up this input mode will not take much of your time.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the control panel using the "Start" button. Go to the configuration menu of languages and regional standards, a small settings window with several tabs should appear on the screen, go to the second, which is responsible for the language settings. In this menu, you can add different keyboard layouts, edit commands to switch them, and so on. By default, Russian keyboards support the entry of Russian alphabet characters using the Cyrillic layout and English using the Latin alphabet. Their switching in the operating system user mode is configured separately using a combination of two system keys.
Step 2
Find the button for setting additional parameters by clicking the corresponding button in the upper right of the screen In the area of the layouts available on the computer, check for the presence of Russian, if there is none, add it using the button on the right. If you need more settings, click on the language bar options at the bottom and check the boxes you want. Here, configure the visibility of the panel display in the menu below and the keys to switch the input mode from Latin to Cyrillic and vice versa.
Step 3
If you need to configure the Cyrillic alphabet on a computer whose operating system interface is completely in English, make sure that Russian language support was installed when Windows was installed, this is usually done by default. However, if this parameter is absent in your operating system, you may need to use the disk with the operating system distribution kit installed on your computer to enable support for the Cyrillic alphabet. This happens very rarely. The program will automatically add support for text services and after that you will need to restart your computer.
