Step 1
To enter your account, the "Agent" uses the login and password entered during the first connection. By default, it stores them encrypted on your computer and does not require you to enter them. Therefore, in order to set a password when starting the "Agent", you need to disable saving it in the account settings.
Step 2
To enter the "Agent" settings, click "Menu" and select "Account Settings". Or click on the small hammer icon, which is in the upper right corner of the dialog with the interlocutor, and go to the "Accounts" tab.
Step 3
Click on the blue pencil next to the required account. In the window that opens, uncheck the "Save password" item and click "OK". At the next launch, "Mail. Ru Agent" will display a window asking for a password.
Step 4
To re-enable automatic login to your account, simply tick the "Save password" box in the password entry window.
Step 5
To require entering a password for a new account or at the first start of the "Agent", uncheck the "Save password" box located in the login window.
Step 6
Despite the set password for entering the "Agent", it remains possible to get your contact list using the "Web Agent" operating on the pages of the "Mail.ru" services. You can turn it off to better control access to your account.
Step 7
To do this, go to the "Mail" on the site and click the "More" button located in the upper horizontal menu. Select the "Settings" item in the list that appears and click on the "Mailbox interface" link on the settings page that opens.
Step 8
Uncheck the box "Display Web Agent on Mail Pages". Click the "Save Changes" button and the "Web Agent" will no longer be displayed on the "Mail.ru" pages
