A file or folder attribute is a characteristic that affects access to its location, editing, and some other key processes. Attributes are added or removed in the "Properties" menu.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the file is not open for viewing or editing. In this case, neither the desktop panel nor the Applications tab in the Task Manager should have its name. Otherwise, property changes and the addition of attributes may not be applied to the file.
Step 2
Open the folder containing the file you want. Select it with a single mouse click or using the arrow keys. If the computer is configured to open a file with a single click of the cursor, then just hover it over the file, then it will be highlighted.
Step 3
Right-click and find the Properties item in the context menu. Click it by clicking with the mouse once.
Step 4
Open the General tab and look at the bottom of the options and options that open. In it, find the word "Attributes" and next to several optionally configurable attributes: "Hidden", "Read-only", "Archive", etc. Select the attributes you want by clicking on the boxes next to the specific word. The attribute will be enabled if a check mark appears in the box.
Step 5
Click the Apply button and then OK. This will activate and save the applied attributes.
