The iso format encodes files that contain complete copies of the contents of a CD and its file system. These files are called "disk images" and are used primarily for distribution over the network. You can open a file of this format using special software.

Step 1
In order to open the iso file you need a special utility called Daemon Tools. This program creates a "virtual" CD-ROM drive in which the "virtual disk" is mounted. Daemon Tools can be downloaded from the link https://www.cwer.ru/sphinx?s=Daemon+Tools, as well as on the official website of the program: https://www.daemon-tools.cc/rus/home. The application has two versions: paid and free. The functions of the free version are enough to open, view and edit iso files. Installation of the program takes a few minutes and does not require any special options
Step 2
After installation, the program starts to function in the background, and its icon appears in the system tray. Right-click on it and select the "Emulation" button in the appeared context menu. Then click on the line "All options are enabled". The program is ready to go. Now, if you enter the "My Computer" folder, or any other file manager, then in addition to the physical drives installed in the system, you can see one or more virtual drives. With the help of these drives, iso files are opened.
Step 3
Open the main window of the Daemon Tools program and left-click on the "Drive 0: [X:] Empty" icon. After that, a Windows Explorer window will open, in which you need to find the iso file.
Go to "My Computer". One of the virtual drives should now be named after the disk image. Click on it twice. As a result, the disc will either open as a regular CD after autorun, or the contents of the disc will be displayed as in the explorer window. Usually, iso files contain distributions of programs for installation, or game files that only work with a CD.
