Many photo galleries have a photo size limitation - you cannot upload a photo that is too large. Most of the photos that are actually worthy of being posted on the Internet are taken in high quality, which gives the photo a weight of ten to fifteen megabytes. In order to use the galleries, it is necessary to compress a picture that was obtained with a camera and subsequent processing. There are two types of processing, depending on how many photos we want to process - one or several.
Instructions
Step 1
To process a single photo, it is enough to use Paint. This is the standard graphics editor found in any distribution of the Windos operating system. It has a minimal set of functions, but they are enough to compress a drawing to the size necessary for sending.
Step 2
Open the file through this program. In the toolbar, find the "edit" button. Next, go to the "Resize" menu. Select the Stretch option and specify a percentage less than one hundred. You will see that the picture will change its size. Repeat this step until you reach the optimal size, and then save the photo.
Step 3
In case you need to compress multiple images at once, use the Picasa program from google. With this program, you can edit several photos at once, one after another, using the same settings. Use this to reduce multiple images and save them in a separate folder. Make sure that the size of the photo is not too small, otherwise the picture quality will be lower than in the original.
