It often happens that after downloading a necessary program or game, you cannot launch it. Because instead of the usual installation file, you see a strange file with the.iso format. Disk images have this extension. Usually, two of the most popular programs are used to mount images, Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

Instructions

Step 1

To download Daemon Tools, follow the link: daemon-tools.cc/rus/products/dtLite. After downloading, install the distribution. Run the installation file and click "Next" everywhere.

Step 2

After installing the program, you need to mount the image. Find the program icon in the lower right corner of the screen. It is round in shape with a blue lightning bolt on it.

Step 3

Right-click on it and select Virtual CD / DVD-ROM from the menu that appears by simply hovering over it. In the drop-down menu, select "Drive", and in the next - "Mount Image".

Step 4

In the window that appears, you must specify let to the image that you want to mount. Go to the folder with the image and, having selected it, click "Open".

Step 5

Now your computer has a virtual drive (CD-Room), it displays the virtual disk that you mounted. Then you can use the program or game as you would on a regular disc.

To unmount the disk, click on the program icon in the bottom corner again. Select Virtual CD / DVD-ROM, then Drive and Unmount Image. After that, you can mount any other image.

To install Alcohol 120%, purchase a license for this program and after downloading the distribution, install it.

Register the program using the license key that you received with the distribution package. After installation, make additional settings. Open "Service", in the drop-down menu select "Options".

Step 9

In the settings menu that opens, go to the "Virtual Disk" tab, set the required number of virtual disks. Next, go to the "File Associations" tab and check the boxes for all types of disks except "RAR", if it is in the list. Then click the "OK" button to save the settings.

Step 10

Select "File" in the main program window, then "Open". And in the window that appears, specify the path to the image that you want to mount. Add the image to the program.

Step 11

In the program window, right-click on the image and click "Mount to device". Similarly, you can unmount the image.

Step 12

You can also mount the image from Windows Explorer. To do this, go to the folder with the image. Click on it with the right mouse button, then select "Mount Image" and select the drive in which you want to mount the image. You can also dismantle the image by entering "My Computer", right-clicking on the virtual image and clicking "Unmount Image".
