Removing the Windows Update icon from the notification area is performed according to the general rules of the Microsoft Windows operating system and does not require the involvement of additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system and go to the "Control Panel" item to perform the operation to hide the annoying Windows Update icon from the notification area.
Step 2
Select the item "Appearance and Personalization" and expand the node "Taskbar and Start Menu".
Step 3
Select the "Notification Area" tab in the dialog box that opens and click the "Customize" button.
Step 4
Call the service menu of the update icon and select the "Hide" command in the drop-down menu.
Step 5
Click OK to confirm your choice and apply the command by clicking Apply.
Step 6
Click OK again and return to the main Start menu to complete the procedure for removing the update icon.
Step 7
Go to "Control Panel" and select "Security Center".
Step 8
Use the option "Change the way of alerts by the Security Center" and uncheck all boxes.

Create a text file with the following value:

Save it as disable-windows-alert.reg. to automate the process of preventing the display of the update icon.
Step 10
Run the created file by double-clicking to apply the selected changes, or completely disable the update service. To do this, go back to the "Start" menu and go to the "Run" item. Enter services.msc in the Open field and click OK. Define the Security Center service and apply the checkbox to the Disabled box under Startup Type.
