The newly installed Windows operating system works very quickly and well. But after a couple of months, the speed slows down significantly, the download begins to take much longer. To restore the normal operation of the OS, it is necessary to carry out a number of measures, one of which is cleaning the system registry.

Instructions

Step 1

The Windows system registry stores information about many system settings. When installing programs, the corresponding entries are made in the registry, but when uninstalling applications, not all lines are deleted correctly. As a result, errors gradually accumulate in the registry, which leads to problems in the operation of the computer.

Step 2

To keep the registry cleaner, use the Uninstall Tool instead of the standard Windows uninstaller when uninstalling programs. When uninstalling programs using it, you can select a mode that removes all traces of the program's presence on the computer.

Step 3

Use CCleaner to restore the registry. This is a small, reliable and very handy utility that allows you not only to clean the registry, but also monitor the startup folder, delete unnecessary files from the system, etc. Run the program, select the "Registry" tab. In the window that opens, checkboxes mark all the elements to be checked. Click the "Search for problems" button, a list of found errors will appear on the right side of the window.

Step 4

To eliminate possible problems, create a restore point: "Start" - "All Programs" - "Accessories" - "System Tools" - "System Restore". Then click the "Fix" button in the program window, agree to create a backup copy of the registry before making changes. A message will appear stating that the first error has been corrected, click the Fix Selected button. All errors will be corrected automatically. Click the "Close" button, then exit the program.

Step 5

After cleaning the registry, defragment your disks to speed up your system. Open: "Start" - "All Programs" - "Accessories" - "System Tools" - "Disk Defragmenter". Select the required disk and click the Analyze button. If a message appears asking you to complete the procedure, click the Defragment button.

Step 6

Browse your startup folder, you can do this in CCleaner. Remove all programs you do not need from startup. Then open the list of services and disable unused and potentially dangerous services - for example, remote control of the system registry ("Remote Registry"). Find the list of services to be disabled on the Internet.
