When a modern video game is installed on a computer, many additional components are installed along with it. Very often, these components end up on the system disk (even when the game is installed on a different partition of your hard disk) and are written to the system registry. As a rule, after the standard removal of the game, some components remain in the registry.

Step 1
There are many programs on the Internet with which you can clean the registry from "garbage". Some of them are paid, others are free. One of the best free software of this kind is called RegCleaner. Find it on the Internet, download and install it on your computer.
Step 2
Run RegCleaner. Find the Scan mode section in its main menu. In this section, check the Custom and Expert items and click on the Clean now button. A new window will start the procedure for scanning your computer for "garbage" in the system registry. After its completion, you can view the results by clicking on the Viem result button.
Step 3
A list of unnecessary registry branches will appear in the window, among which you can find the registry files that remained after the game. Although it is not at all necessary to look for them. Since all unnecessary branches are marked with a checkbox, it is enough to press Delete on the program toolbar, and all unnecessary files will be deleted.
Step 4
The second program, which will be considered, is paid, although it has a trial period of use. It is called TuneUp Utilities 2011. Download it, install it on your computer and run it.
Step 5
In the main menu, go to the "System Optimization" section. Then select the "Registry Cleanup" option. In the next window, check "Full view". Proceed further. Wait for the scan to complete. Check the box "Clean up problems immediately" and click "Next". After doing this, all unnecessary registry entries will be removed from your system.
Step 6
While TuneUp Utilities 2011 is running on your computer, it will automatically clean up the registry from time to time, which will run in the background. So after the trial period, you can purchase the program and no longer be distracted by the procedure for cleaning the registry of your operating system.
