A disk image contains all the data that can be found on a regular CD or DVD. If you need a suitable device to read a CD, then a virtual drive must be created for the virtual disk. You can mount a disk image to a virtual drive in Daemon Tools Pro in a few steps.

Instructions

Step 1

Launch Daemon Tools Pro application. At the bottom of the program window, switch to the tab of the overview of virtual disks - Virtual CD / DVD Devices. The panel is either at the very bottom or just above the toggle switches. In the top menu bar, select the "Tools" section and call the "Add IDE Virtual Drive" command. This command can also be called in the drop-down menu by right-clicking in any free area in the Virtual CD / DVD Devices field. If the program window is configured to display the Basic panel, click on the corresponding icon with the "+" sign.

Step 2

Wait for the program to create a new virtual disk. A still empty drive icon will appear in the Virtual CD / DVD Devices field. Until you mount an image on it, it will be marked Empty. Select the disk icon with the left mouse button and select Mount Image from the Tasks Panel. Alternatively, select Mount from the Tools menu, or right-click on the disk icon and select Mount Image from the drop-down menu.

Step 3

A window will open - specify the path to the disk image in the.iso format (.mds,.mdf and so on) and press the Enter key or the "Open" button. Wait for the disk image to be mounted to the virtual drive. After that you can close the Daemon Tools Pro program. Open the "My Computer" item, the newly created drive with the image mounted on it will be in the list of available resources after all local and removable drives on your computer.

Step 4

You can work with disc images in the same way as with regular CD or DVD discs. Click on the disk icon to start or open it. The virtual drive will remain in the list of drives on your computer until you remove it using the DT application. To remove a virtual drive, right-click on its icon and select Remove Virtual Drive from the drop-down menu. Confirm your action and wait for the operation to complete.
