Files with the.shs extension contain the Shell Scrap Object File and are not fully fledged text files. They are used for temporary storage of relocatable objects and are otherwise referred to as fragments, since they can contain scripts for launching an action (scripts).

Instructions
Step 1
Find and download the wxscrap2rtf application to your computer to convert the unrecognizable.shs to.rtf format.
Step 2
Run the wxscrap2rtf.exe executable file and create a new folder on your desktop to save the snippet with the.shs extension.
Step 3
Click the "Next" button in the main program window and specify the newly created folder on the desktop with the fragment to be opened in the "Browse for folders" dialog box that opens.
Step 4
Press the OK button to confirm your choice and press the OK button again to execute the command.
Step 5
Do not make any changes in the next dialog box and click the "Next" button to start the processing of the selected file.
Step 6
Wait for the message that the.shs file has been successfully converted to RTF and click Next to exit the wxscrap2rtf application.
Step 7
Click the "Finish" button in the last dialog box of the program to apply the selected changes and open the required document in the office application Word included in the Microsoft Office package.
Step 8
Press the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Run" item to perform the operation of determining the true format of the fragment hidden behind the.shs extension.
Step 9
Enter regedit in the Open field and click OK to confirm the command to run the Registry Editor tool.
Step 10
Expand the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTShellScrap registry key and delete the value for the NeverShowExt parameter.
