Sometimes it may happen that you are not satisfied with the icon of a particular program and there is a desire to replace it with another that, in your opinion, is more suitable for it. Well, this is not at all difficult to do.
Instructions
Step 1
Right-click on the icon of the program you want to replace and in the window that appears, select the very bottom line - Properties. In the window that opens, click on the "Change icon" button. Now you see a window in which you see the path to the executable file of the program and its current icon. Click the Browse button and locate the new icon.
Step 2
The icons themselves can be located directly in the executable file of the program, in ico format, as well as in some dll libraries. If you want to use the standard Windows icon library, you will need to select the "libraries" file type and find the Pifmgr.dll, Shell32.dll, Netshell.dll or Wmploc.dll files in the WINDOWSsystem32 directory. Now click on the "OK" and "Apply" button.
Step 3
There are many free icon catalogs on the internet, but many of them are in png format. In order to use them, you need to convert them to ico format. This can be done in different ways, for example, use a free service https://converticon.com/. Click the Get Started button, then Browse. Select the file type image (png, gif, jpeg), then find the file you want to convert. Then click Export. You will be prompted to specify the size of the future icon. Leave the original size (by default, there is a check mark on it). Now click Save As and save the icon in the desired location.
