Agent is an application developed by Mail. Ru Group for instant messaging and receiving notifications about new incoming letters in an e-mail inbox. The principle of the program is similar to that of "ICQ". The app also supports the option of sending SMS messages to mobile phones of contacts.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch the Mail Agent program using a shortcut on the desktop or the quick launch bar. Open your contact list. Add a mobile phone number to the contact to whom you want to send SMS from the Mail Agent program, or create a new contact.
Step 2
To do this, go to the "Menu", select the option "Add contact for calls and SMS", then in the pop-up window fill in the "Username" field, as well as "Main phone". Add additional numbers as needed to keep in touch with this user.
Step 3
Click on the "Add" button, now you can send an SMS message to this person from the agent. In the future, you can add an email address to this profile to exchange instant messages with the user.
Step 4
Add a phone number to the contact information to send SMS from the "Mail Agent". To do this, open the list of contacts, right-click on the desired one and select the "Profile" option. Go to the "Editable phones" section, enter your mobile phone number there. You can add multiple numbers if needed. Click on the "Save" button.
Step 5
Select a user to send SMS, double-click on the interlocutor's name. In the window that appears, go to the "SMS" tab, type the desired text of the message. If you have several numbers saved for this user, select the number to which you want to send an SMS message from the drop-down list.
Step 6
Please note that the maximum length of an SMS message in Russian is 36 characters, in Latin - 116 characters. You can also check the box next to "Autotranslite" so that the program automatically transliterates the text typed in Russian.
Step 7
Check if your message will be delivered using the list on the website https://help.mail.ru/agent-help/sms/region. This page lists the regions and mobile operators to whose numbers the message is guaranteed to be delivered.
