The exchange of messages in Skype, voice and video calls between the users of the program are carried out almost free of charge: when communicating with the interlocutor, you pay only for Internet traffic. However, this software allows you to make calls not only over the network, but also to regular phones. Including, you can send an SMS message to any mobile.
Instructions
Step 1
If you haven’t had a chance to make Skype calls to regular phones before, then you didn’t need to top up your account. But, since sending SMS from Skype is a paid service, first of all you need to deposit a certain amount to your account. The minimum contribution is 5 euros, the maximum is 25.
Step 2
Launch the program, in the main menu select the successive items Skype - "Deposit money into Skype account …". The program will check your profile parameters and open the account replenishment window.
Step 3
First, select the amount of money you want to deposit into your Skype account by checking the box next to the corresponding number. Then fill in all the fields on the form for your billing address. Then choose a payment method.
Step 4
You can top up your account using Visa and MasterCard bank cards, as well as using WebMoney and Yandex. Money e-wallets. If you do not have an electronic wallet or you use another bank card, you can choose one of the electronic payment systems at your discretion from the "Others" menu. After you have chosen a payment method, click the "Next" button, and if everything is correct in the form that appears, click "Buy".
Step 5
When the money is credited to your Skype account, add your mobile phone number to the profile of the person you want to send the message to. Select the required subscriber in the "Contact List" with one mouse click and in the message exchange form click on the SMS button. In this case, a window will automatically open with a proposal to add the subscriber's mobile phone number. In it, click on the "Add phone number" button.
Step 6
In the next window that opens "Add a number to this dossier" select the type of phone - mobile, home, work or other; select the region for automatic prefix insertion, enter the number in ten-digit format and click on the checkmark button. The phone will be saved, and after that a window will open asking you to add your phone number so that the subscriber knows who the SMS message came from. Here you can either add your number right away or resolve this issue later by clicking one of the corresponding buttons.
Step 7
Now you can write SMS in the same way as in a regular chat. The maximum size of one message on the Russian keyboard layout is 70 characters, in the Latin alphabet - 160 characters. The cost of one such message is 5 euro cents. If the limit of characters in one SMS is exceeded, Skype will split the message into several smaller ones, counting every next 70 or 160 characters as a new message and charging the corresponding fee. When you have finished entering text, click the "Send message" button to the right of the input field.
