Step 1
Download VirtualDub to your computer and install it on your operating system. You can find it on the website softodrom.ru or soft.ru. Try to install this software on a local drive where the operating system of your personal computer is located. Open the program using the shortcut on the desktop. The VirtualDub window will be blank because you need to add a video file to edit.
Step 2
Open the movie whose audio track you want to recode. To do this, click on the Open video file item of the File menu. In the dialog box, find the directory where this video file is located. We recommend that you make a copy of the file before making changes to the original. To edit the sound of a video file, click on the Audio menu item and select the Conversion item. Set the required parameters: Sampling rate, Precision, Channels. If you only need to process the track with the codec, do not change the values.
Step 3
Specify the type of compression in the Audio menu, item Compression. In the window that appears, select the audio format - for example, the usual mp3 with standard parameters 128Kbps, 44100, Stereo. Note that the values in the Conversion and Compression windows are the same. Select the checkbox next to Sync to Audio in the Options menu to keep the video and audio components of your movie in sync. Then go to the File menu and click on Save as AVI. Write the name of the processed copy of the movie and start the encoding process by clicking on the Save button. Typically, you need to create a copy of the file and edit it to keep the original movie file unchanged. In this case, you can compare the quality of both films during playback.
