Step 1
DVD-Rip is a compressed file format that usually takes up 700 MB or 1.4 GB. Films of this format can be viewed on any modern video player, the only condition for normal viewing is the presence of a codec package. At the moment there are a large number of them, the latest versions of operating systems have a download system of their own, but this system is still not ideal.
Step 2
It is recommended to install a set of codecs called K-Lite Codec Pack - the most widespread package today, besides, it is in the free access zone. To download, go to the following link https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm and choose absolutely any set of codecs, the DVD format has been known for several years, so almost any multimedia player, even with the Standard set, can play it. During installation, you must select the Lots of stuff option from the drop-down list.
Step 3
Now you can play the movie in dvd-rip format. Use a standard player - Windows Media Player. Click the "Start" menu, select "All Programs", then the "Accessories" folder and click on the "Windows Media Player" shortcut. In the window that opens, press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O and select the movie you would like to watch.
Step 4
Some users recommend using the simpler and more convenient KMPlayer utility. It does not require any codecs, all the necessary elements are already included in the distribution kit. If you open a movie through this program, and it does not support this format, a small window immediately appears on the screen asking for permission to connect to the Internet. Next, KMPlayer itself will download the required codec and, after restarting, will start playing.

Opening and launching files is carried out in the same way as in the previous player, by pressing the Ctrl + O key combination.
