Some webcams are equipped with a function to illuminate the object in front of the lens. Sometimes this option is superfluous, for example, in good lighting conditions. There are several ways to turn off the backlight through the device interface.
Necessary
- - software supplied with the web device;
- - Webcam.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you should make sure that this function is implemented not only at the software level, but also at the hardware level. The backlight can be turned off by pressing a special button directly on the camera body. Most front-illuminated cameras are equipped with this solution. Often, the button can only be found by touch (it is small), as a rule, it is located on the back of the device.
Step 2
If you did not find the camera control buttons, refer to the software component of the device. Find the camera installer disc that came with your camera and insert it into the open tray of your CD / DVD drive. Select Program or Utilities from the disc menu. Install the program that is used to control the external device.
Step 3
In the main window of the program, go to the section "Webcam control" (the name may be different) and find the option "Front lighting". Disable it by selecting the appropriate item. Save changes and close the program window.
Step 4
If this software was not found on the installation disc, it is recommended to download the camera utility. If the webcam is built into the laptop case, you should install additional drivers from the official website, with which you can control any action.
Step 5
Additional functions for controlling the camera are also available in the settings of the drivers themselves, which are launched through the control panel or through the device manager. Click the Start menu and select Control Panel. In the window that opens, double-click on the "Printers and Faxes" icon, then select the "Scanners and Cameras" item. In the properties of the webcam, use the launch point of the driver program.
