Step 1
Download the distribution kit of the specialized Recuva application from the official website to your computer. The program is free and freely distributed on the Internet. Run the executable file of the program with a double click of the mouse and select the "Russian" item in the language selection window that opens. Confirm the installation of Recuva by clicking the "Next" button in the main window of the wizard, and agree to the terms of the license agreement by clicking the "Accept" button in the next dialog box. Apply the checkboxes in all lines of the new wizard window and save the changes by clicking the "Install" button. Wait for the process to complete.
Step 2
Connect the portable hard drive you want to recover data to your computer and run the installed Recuva application. Skip the first window of the recovery wizard by clicking the "Next" button, and apply the checkbox in the line of the required type of lost files in the next dialog box. The options offered are: - Pictures; - Music; - Documents; - Videos; - Emails (only from Windows Mail, Thunderbird and Outlook Express); - Others. Confirm your choice by clicking the Next button.
Step 3
Mark the checkbox in the line for saving the lost information in the next window of the recovery wizard: - not known for sure; - on a memory card; - in the folder "My Documents"; - in the trash bin; - in the specified location. When choosing the last option, click the "Browse" button and specify the full path to the location where the missing data was saved. Confirm the correctness of the specified data by clicking the "Next" button, and complete the wizard by clicking the "Start" button in the last dialog box.
Step 4
Wait until the process of scanning the hard disk is completed and the directory of found files appears. Select the ones you need and click the "Restore" button in the lower right corner of the program window.
