The HP inkjet print cartridge dries up quickly after long idle or late refills. If you do not have the opportunity to buy a new cartridge or entrust the process of its restoration to specialists, try to extend its printing life yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the cartridge in a plastic bag with the nozzles down and leave it in this position for 2 weeks. Place a tissue on the nozzles and shake the cartridge vigorously before use. If the napkin becomes stained, then the cartridge will serve you for some time. Hold the cartridge over steam for 5 seconds. Repeat the procedure 10 times with short breaks.
Step 2
Place the dried nozzles under hot water for 2-3 seconds and then blow or rinse them. Select a suitable nozzle for the syringe, place a tissue on the nozzles and blow out the cartridge. Use distilled water whenever possible, as insufficiently purified tap water contains many small particles that can permanently clog the cartridge nozzles.
Step 3
Soak the HP cartridge in an acidic composition made from 80% distilled water, 10% alcohol, and 10% acetic acid essence. After abundantly watering a napkin with this composition, place the cartridge on it with the nozzles down. If the cartridge is empty inside, place it whole in the solution and fill it inside. After 3 days, purge the cartridge nozzles with a rubber-guided syringe.
Step 4
Prepare a neutral solution with 80% distilled water, 10% alcohol, and 10% glycerin. Use it if the acidic composition did not help soak the cartridge. The most extreme measure is the use of an alkaline solution consisting of 70% distilled water, 10% glycerin, 10% alcohol and 10% ammonia
Step 5
Buy a flushing fluid to remove ink residues from printheads and cartridges. Heat it to 80 degrees and pour it into the disassembled cartridge. Place it for a day in the same liquid, only cold.
