To ensure the stable operation of the local network, you must correctly configure the network adapters. In addition, sometimes it is necessary to use additional equipment to connect multiple PCs.
Necessary
- - switch;
- - network cables.
Instructions
Step 1
Use a network hub to combine computers into a workgroup. It is important to understand that you need to purchase a switch only if you are going to include more than three computers in the network.
Step 2
Connect the switch to AC power. Purchase or prepare the required number of straight crimp cables. RJ45 LAN connectors are used to connect to a computer and a hub.
Step 3
Connect desktop and mobile computers with the switch. Turn on the PC data and start debugging the parameters of the local network. First, zero out the routing table. This is especially true in those situations when the computer was actively used in another local network.
Step 4
Open the Start menu and select Run. Enter the cmd command and press the Enter key. This is required to start the Windows console. Now enter the line route –f and press Enter. Restart your computer after resetting the routing table. Follow this algorithm for the rest of the computers.
Step 5
Now configure the network adapter parameters. Open the start menu and go to the list of local connections. Find the icon of the required network and go to its properties.
Step 6
Now open the TCP / IP settings dialog. Click on "Use the following IP address". Set a value for this network adapter. Press the Tab key to view the resulting subnet mask.
Step 7
Configure the network cards of the remaining computers. Enter the values for the IP addresses that will match the first three segments. This will allow systems to automatically provide the same subnet mask.
Step 8
Create public folders on the target computers. Add items to Network Neighborhood to have quick access to the files you need.
